Creating opportunities for youth development and growth
When they both joined The Mvula Trust in 2016 and 2017 respectively, their plan was merely to accumulate experience in the work integrated environment and hoping to secure themselves career opportunities after the programme has come to an end elsewhere.
Little did this duo know that The Mvula Trust had great plans for them. It was the beginning of more exposure, learning, accountability and translating theory they learned from their respective institutions of higher learning into a tangible and results-driven work.On arrival, Constance Sekobo and Modjadji Mashao were placed as interns in the Finance and Marketing and Communications Business Units respectively. After completing their internship programme, The Mvula Trust, as part of its commitment to development and creating value in the lives of previously disadvantaged young people, saw a need to continue providing an enabling environment for their growth corporate environment.
At the end of their internship programme, Modjadji and Constance were appointed as Communications Assistant and Accounting and Reporting Officer respectively. They were assigned mentors who ensured that they were focused and consistently growing in their different roles.The Mvula Trust is passionate and willing to advocate the agenda of youth development through artisanship programmes across the country. The process of opening an academy is under way to ensure that youth development initiatives are not just a dream but a sustainable programme that will yield desired and life-changing results.
