The Mvula Trust celebrates Mandela Day with kids
As part of its Mandela Day activities, The Mvula Trust visited Home of Joy day-care centre to donate food parcels, toys and other goods.
The centre is located in Etwatwa near Springs in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. It takes care of approximately forty (40) kids from underprivileged families and their age ranges from three (3) months to six (6) years of age, and some of them are brought to the crèche without food because their parents are either unemployed or rely on the centre for provision.
Handing over the goods to the centre, Chief Operations Officer at The Mvula Trust, Julia Mmushi said: “Mandela subjected his life to detention for the sake of our freedom. He was a selfless and kind – hearted man. It is for this reason that we have to be his agents of change.”
The Mvula Trust staff played with kids and showed them love during the event. Appreciating this wonderful gesture, children also sang beautiful songs and danced for the guests.
“I am grateful to you The Mvula Trust for assistance. Our centre was struggling with provision of food to the kids. We feel privileged to be visited by you today,” said Doris Sukazi, head of the crèche.
Let the spirit of Mandela Day activities continue to positively impact lives.
